The Philippine Int’l. English School (PIES) in Fahaheel, Kuwait was an offshoot of the state visit of President Fidel V. Ramos to Kuwait in September 1997. In his meeting with His Highness, the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, President Ramos personally appealed to the Kuwait community to establish a Philippine school that will address the educational needs of the Filipino children based in Kuwait.The school started its first year of operation on 12 April 1999 for the school year 1999-2000 under Directive Permit No. 2780 issued by the Ministry of Education of Kuwait on 01 September 1999. It was inaugurated on 17 April 1999 and was given a Philippine Department of Education authorization in October 2001. It started with pre-elementary, elementary, and secondary educational programs based on Philippine curriculum.
